Play, Play And More Play
My favorite family came back to visit last weekend.
Once again Tank, Chloe and I took an early morning walk to Starbucks. Here they are posing on the stump of an oak tree that was recently felled in our complex. That tree was estimated to be between 250 and 350 years old.
This visit we decided to explore Sonoma. Yes, most people think of Sonoma as a vino-oriented destination, but we like to buck convention.
Our first order of business was to let the kids stretch their legs after the car ride.
The playground in the central Plaza was filled with happy kids.
Tank showed off his daredevil skills.
While Cricket tackled the jungle gym. (Are they still called that?)
Cricket managed to make sliding look chic in her fashion forward sweater cape. Wonder if I can find something like that at Zoe Boutique?
Eventually we stopped playing long enough to get a family picture.
A few wishes into the fountain…
And then it was time to head to Sonoma Train Town. Train Town is a delightful small amusement park geared toward the 10 and under crowd. You pay for each attraction individually. The highlight of the park is the miniature train ride that goes through the entire park.
The train makes a 10 minute stop at a “village” complete with a petting zoo and a kid-sized town.
Cricket gave a quick lesson in the schoolhouse.
And we caught Tank unaware at the town outhouse.
Our favorite ride was the Scrambler.
Even dry, Sonoma gets eight thumbs up from us. (But don’t kid yourself, KK and I will be back for a wet weekend sometime soon!)

awesome photos!
Can’t help but laugh when I look at these!!
