I’m Back! And An Answer To The Riddle
Did you miss me?
More importantly, did you lose sleep over the mystery of the deskbell?
At last, an answer for you.
See this dog with my mom? That’s Tucker.
Actually I believe his real name is Friar Tuck IV. My parents have this weird habit of calling every dog Tucker. Does anyone else do that? It makes telling stories a little difficult, because you have to qualify things.
Oh, well that was back when we had the silver Tucker.
So now you know that I come by my strangeness honestly.
And no, there will not be a Cecilia II. But how cute does she look in this old picture?
But I digress.
Back to the bell.
Tucker is a very smart dog. He is well trained. As you may be able to tell from the picture above, he is a certified therapy dog and has a very full social and professional calendar.
He is also pretty clear about expressing his likes and dislikes.
- He prefers to eat his dinner in front of the TV.
- He prefers riding in the golf cart with his paws on Dad’s shoulders.
- He prefers his kibble mixed with chicken and cheerios.
- And he prefers to stay in the guest room with me, even when I want him out!
Hence, the bell.
Step 1: I tell Tucker to leave the room.
Step 2: Tucker crawls under the bed so I can’t get to him.
Step 3: I get the bell and ring it loudly until he leaves the room.
Juice 1, Tucker 0
Mystery solved.
Empty nest syndrome = dog food loaded up with Cheerios
I thought I would welcome retirement… now I’m just scared!
Cute post, glad you had fun with M&D!
Ah… I knew it had to do with dogs…. or if you are starting a bed and breakfast… anyhoo…
cute pics! wow, cecilia looks different without her tumor. and tucker… how cute is he/she on your dad’s shoulders??
sorry – HE. 🙂
I missed you TERRIBLY! And that is a really funny story. But it leaves me asking WHY does Tucker leave the room when you ring the bell? Does it hurt his eardrums? Is he trained to leave the room when a bell rings? Tucker sounds a lot like Sophie–wants what she wants when she wants it. Maybe I need to get a bell for Sophie. Maybe I can train Sophie to ring the bell when she needs to go potty. Oh brother, I just got a vision of Sophie ringing the bell every time she wanted something from me. Which is quite often…
Glad you’re back!! Now I can finally get some sleep since I now know the answer to the mystery that is The Bell! 🙂
Tucker’s a cutie! 🙂
Welcome back!!! Guess Tucker wasn’t saying “More deskbell!” 😉 He’s a cutie!
Thank you for your comment on my Haiti post. I felt the same as you…no words. I was inspired by so many other bloggers, whose posts on it were so thoughtful; just felt like I had to say something since my blog is my journal of sorts.
LOL on the “more deskbell” comment! Love the story of Tucker. No matter how many there are!
Thanks for your sweet thoughts and prayers!!
