Meet Simon

November 19, 2010

Hi. I Simon. Stupid bonnet.

This is Simon.  He’s our new foster dog.  Simon is a 2.5 year old Pekinese.  As you might have guessed from the collar-of-shame, Simon was just neutered.  Why people don’t automatically neuter their pets is just beyond me.

Anyway, Simon arrived Wednesday.  He’s still in obvious discomfort from his surgery, but aside from that he seems to be a really sweet little dog.  He loves to snuggle and he’s becoming more playful.

He shares one odd trait with Chloe.  I’m starting to wonder if this is a small dog thing.  Last night I briefly left the house to visit neighbor L and baby Eliana.  When I came back in the house guess who was standing on top of the kitchen table?  Seriously, dogs on the table?  Am I living in some weird parallel universe where this is normal?

More to come as we get to know Simon better.  If you are interested in adopting him go to  I’d link it, but WordPress is acting funky.

Wondering if they can see better out a window from that particular vantage point.

Simon is absolutely adorable. Love the way he is laying. Especially for just having been neutered. Ouch.

I have a 12# Toy Fox Terrier/Chihuahua mix. I’ve not found her on a table in the year and a half I’ve owned her. She’s never shown any interest.

From your pictures it looks like Chloe likes to play, “King of the Hill.”

That’s how Lainie and Celie got the name ‘The Bad Little Girls.’ They got on the table TWICE when my BFF was visiting and ate more of the blueberry coffee cake than we did…

I LOVE Pekingese! He is a cutie, and it looks like his eyes are nice and clear–so many of them in rescue have eye problems.

Oh, he is indeed a cutie! I don’t think he’ll have a problem finding a forever home.

Oh my gosh, is he cute or what?!? Not showing his picture to Thing 2, that’s for sure. (Had a hard enough time convincing her that we only need *one* cat right now after going to visit the kitties at the pet supply store and running into the adoption fair.)

And it might be a small dog thing. Our Bela, in her younger days, would jump up on the kitchen counter when we were out. (She never did it in front of us, so she obviously knew it wasn’t okay to do.) One time she snagged a nectarine off the counter. Why would a dog want a nectarine? She wasn’t even a ball-fetching dog, either. She would have been a great “jillity” dog.
