Cherry Blossoms!

March 26, 2012

Guess where I went last Thursday…

Wait, this picture ought to help you figure it out.

Hmmm, that building looks vaguely presidential.

Yep.  Mom and I went to the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Mom took this picture of me on the drive down,  just before we scored a rock star parking spot.  Please note that I have dressed for the occasion.  See my “cherry blossom” earring?  I just got that a couple of weeks ago at my friend Susan’s store in Old Town Alexandria.  It’s called Zoe Boutique, and it is very cute, so if you are in Old Town stop in and say hello to Susan!  (PS Susan blogs about owning a small business here.  It is quite an education.)

Mom made it up here just in time for peak bloom.

And since we went on a weekday, the crowds really weren’t bad at all!

Our favorite part of the festival was walking through the FDR memorial.

The weather was perfect and we finished our tour just as it started to get a little warm.

Totally worth playing hooky from work!

Oh how glorious. I would love to be able to see that someday!

Love that picture of you and your mom–both of you are beautiful.

You both look great and all those blooming trees are really something else. I’m glad you had a good time.
