Weekend Wrap Up

Entertained: My beautiful new dining table was just begging to be christened, so Jersey came over for dinner. As you can see, I served her candles. Again me with the mad photog skillz. Doesn’t it look like she’s about to bite one of those candles? Ansel Adams is rolling in his grave. And yes, this dinner would have been a perfect time to try a new recipe, but I went with an old favorite: Summer Succotash with Chicken. Tasty and delicious.
Grooved: One of my favorite bands (Hot Mess) was playing in Fells Point. It was so humid the bar was positively steamy. Yuck! But still fun.
Redecorated: I’ve been spending lots of time indoors because of the heat wave. My house is benefiting from the attention. See for yourself. (PS I had no idea I was going to blog about this topic, so my Before pics are pretty weak. Sorry about that. Use your imagination.)
Before – Note the filing-cabinet-turned-end table in the background behind Chloe. Complete with ugly candle, funky lamp and computer modem and wireless boxes.
Dis still my ball
After – I found this table in the basement from my college days. A little bit of elbow grease and this corner feels much lighter. The computer components are still there, just hidden by the frame.
Before – This CD case was taking up valuable floor space.
After – Most of these CDs have been rehomed to Goodwill. And it looks like I’ve put Chloe in a corner. (Nobody puts Baby in a corner!)
Before – The TV was too big for that cabinet.
After – Bye bye TV! (Honestly, that cabinet is probably still a little undersized for the wall there, but it looks a heck of a lot better. I’ll keep it for now.)

Wow! Looks like a very productive weekend! Those candles looked mighty delicious lol!
Oooh, I love to redecorate and change furniture around. Love your new dining room table. In an effort to downsize so we can move to a smaller house, I sold our dining table and a master bedroom suit this past weekend. I forgot we wouldn’t be moving to said smaller house until next May. Less to dust now, though.
P.S. The picture of Chloe on the couch with the ball, begs the caption, “Dis my ball”. I cannot look at those balls without hearing her voice in my head, “Dis my ball”

Wait, Juice, did you get rid of your TV or just put it else where? (inquiring minds want to know). Of course, this comment is coming from someone who doesn’t ‘watch’ TV (ie. hasn’t had cable in a decade) 🙂
