Visitors From Reno
Look who showed up the other weekend:
They arrived after supper on Friday night and boy oh boy were those kids wound up!

Who us? Wound up? We’re not wound up. Hey, watch me climb on top of my brother’s head and jump off backwards while singing Miss Polly really really loud!
Going to bed was not an option, so we tried to tire those kids out.
We took pictures.
And more pictures.
And we played Mad Libs and we read books and we climbed on furniture and finally we decided to go to sleep.
Saturday morning Tank, Chloe and I snuck out for an early walk to Starbucks while KK and Cricket slept. Somehow I had a feeling coffee might be helpful.
Next on our Saturday agenda: playing with Cricket’s hair.
For the record I’d like to point out that I just happened to have ribbons that matched Cricket’s shirt. I was totally meant to be the aunt of a little girl.
I’ve been taunting KK with mentions of the wonderful farmer’s market for weeks, so of course we had to check it out.
Brussel sprouts, strawberries, cauliflower, onions…
… and of course oranges for my new juicer.
After the farmers’ market we headed to lunch at Boudin. I think I’ve had more sourdough in the last 3 months than I had on the East Coast in the last 3 years.
After lunch, someone who shall remain nameless managed to slam his finger in the car door.
Dr. Juice provided Advil and a bag of frozen peas, then left the patient in the capable hands of Nurse KK. She then prescribed some Vitamin D therapy for Cricket.
Later that afternoon we all went to see a production of Anastasia Krupnik at the B Street Theater.
It was a really terrific production with a wonderful cast and excellent staging. I’ll definitely head back to B Street in the future.
PS Don’t be fooled by Cricket’s pout.
The next day we did a quick run through the Norman Rockwell exhibit at the Crocker before watching the 49ers secure their Superbowl berth.
Then they headed back to Reno while I watched the Ravens kick some Patriot booty. A full, fun and family filled weekend in Sacramento.
Wow, those are some cute kids! 😉 You’re so good to us; we’re spoiled rotten when we come to see you! (We really did A LOT that weekend, but somehow we didn’t feel rushed. Must’ve been that nap you let me take while you generously took Cricket to get her dose of Cali Vitamin-D. Thank you!!!!)
Looks like so much fun!!!!!!
Sooooo funnnnnn!!!!!! 🙂
I can’t believe how big Tank is getting! He’s officially like, “not little” anymore…….
