A Trip To Petaluma

July 6, 2013

Ever since I decided to move to California I’ve been excited to visit Petaluma.  After all, Centsational Girl is from there and her photos of town always look amazing.  An AVA walk was scheduled in Petaluma over Memorial Day weekend so Walker C and I made a day of it.

Petaluma is a quaint town, the kind you don’t see often these days.

People there are serious gardeners!  We passed some really interesting and lovely gardens.  And yes, those are plastic dinosaurs adorning that fence.

Our walk finished just in time for lunch.  We had unexpectedly wonderful sandwiches at Ray’s Delicatessen and Tavern, followed by delicious ice cream from the Petaluma Creamery.

After lunch we wandered the downtown area shopping and browsing.  One of the most unusual shops was the Petaluma Seed Bank.

Any kind of heirloom seed you can imagine!

It was a perfect way to spend a perfect day.

Mama, please we go back Petaluma soon?

So fun! I love your pictures of Petaluma! I remember the town being written about in the Peanuts comic strip as the site of the World Wrist Wrestling Championship! I am glad to know there is so much more to it than that!
