My Birthday Tailgate

November 16, 2011

Bosslady’s family hosted my birthday tailgate again this year.  She baked my very favorite birthday cake: yellow cake with orange extract and chocolate frosting.  Yum!  You can tell that she was a little hazed when baking – that cake is supposed to say “Happy B’day O.”  We got a lot of mileage out of that blond moment.

As you can see from this picture, I was clearly enjoying myself at the tailgate.

Look, here I am blowing out the candles.

Do you know what is a good idea when blowing out birthday candles?  Holding your hair back.  We had a small Michael Jackson incident but it was quickly resolved and no (major) harm done.

This adorable girl had the right idea.  Frosting coated candles are the best!

Me and my peeps.

And me and my Pop.

I am blessed.

We had a birthday tailgate last weekend, too! My husband’s birthday and also my daughter’s good friend! So fun (plus we had a huge win!).

    Happy belated…

That cake is hilarious! That’s one none of you will ever forget! And you must be careful – we can’t have you burning that beautiful hair! Happy, happy birthday!

Happy Birthday! I’ve never had that flavor of cake, but chocolate and orange are a favorite combination of mine. I might have to try that sometime! Hope this is just the beginning of the birthday season!!
